    Dear Mr. Chow,
Thank you for setting up the organization of the Silent Majority. Indeed, the vast majority of Hong Kong people do not like what is happening to Hong Kong since the Handover. A small number of vocal people are causing a great deal of fuss, day in day out. It is as if they are not happy seeing Hong Kong being a prosperous and vibrant place to live. They want people to be unhappy and to destroy Hong Kong’s prosperity.

I therefore wholly agree with your organisation’s view and aim.

    All the best.

    Mr. Chan,

It is a human instinct and absolutely natural for us to wish that we would continue to maintain a “prosperous and vibrant” way of living. No one would like to see a monster like Mao, Stalin, Hitler who acted in every way only in their own interest, power, selfish, and ambition without any regard to the population (aka: humans) in their society. However, maintaining the status quo is not necessarily the best way to sustain the current way of living. I imagine no one would dare to think that Mao would listen to Chiang in the 30s &40s that he should not revolt because Shanghai people would like to maintain their “prosperous and vibrant” lifestyle. If there are sufficient injustices, discrimination, inequalities, exploitations, sheer twisting of facts to suit one own selfish purpose, …. in a society that would call for even the normally timid people to agitate, to speak out, to stand up against those in power who show no respect for the masses, you know that is the time to CHANGE. I would like to stress that what should be maintained is our breadth and depth of accommodating the opinions and actions of others, as long as no violence is proposed, no organized crime is involved …. (with respect to that, very unfortunately, the CE has absolutely failed in this respect). No one has proposed a revolution like what Mao did to Chiang. What we want is an IMPROVED, BETTER, HARMONIOUS society with MORE justice, equality, LESS discrimination, exploitation, and more ethical and morally acceptable behavior of CEOs, those who play politics ….
    Thank you.
    Best,
    AC
